The privacy of financial data is governed by two related laws, one known as GLBA, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and the other known as FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

Financial records are entitled to the highest level of protection in the IU privacy program.

Sharing your financial information with IU

There are several situations in which you may share financial information with IU. Here are some examples:

  • Student loans
  • Credit counseling
  • Check cashing services
